So, without further delay, my small, but growing, family of roosters.
These were passed down to me from my grandmother's collection, they are original milk glass:
Next, this rooster is actually a very heavy weight--probably meant to be a door stop. However, I enjoy it on my baker's rack or counter--it has never touched the floor!
Lastly, this grouping of hen and roosters is a collection of Venetian glass. I am always amazed to see how they can hand blow glass so beautifully!
I hope that you have enjoyed my small, but growing collection of roosters! I will work on the quilting aspect with roosters as the motif very soon!
Until tomorrow--and yes, I will be back tomorrow and daily after that, I have so much to share--Happy Quilting and take a trip to other Roosters in the Party by clicking on the link below!
Hi Barb,
ReplyDeleteI love your roosters, they are so pretty but the milkglass ones are truly special. Just lovely.
Thank you for joining us and sharing your pretties. Have fun visiting everyone.
Hugs, Barb ♥
You've got some great roosters!

Ooooh I do love roosters too. I have quite a collection myself. AND I just bought the coolest art quilt pattern of roosters in a scene, as well as I picked up a new magazine with "stuffed" rooster patterns (3 of them) that I want to make. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with roosters.
ReplyDeleteBarb, thanks for sharing your roosters. I think the tall milk glass one from your grandmother is the twin of one of my roosters. :-)

The Corgis in your header are sooo precious! Of course today I'm here for the roosters. You have a great start! Love each one. Vintage is always best! :)

ReplyDeleteYou have a nice collection of roosters, love the milk glass ones. Have a great weekend, Barb!
ReplyDeleteYour roosters are great. I bet you really treasure the milk glass ones from your grandma. I like the Venician glass ones very much and I'm wondering if you picked those up from Hobby Lobby?
ReplyDeleteVery nice collection - I don't think I've ever seen the milk glass ones - they're nice - I like milk glass a lot.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I also love Corgi's :0) My dog who passed away last year was half Corgi and half Chow - I know odd combination but he was beautiful shaped like a Corgi except for longer legs, had a Corgi face and ears but he had the fluffy Chow tale and the blueberry Chow tounge. I fell in love with Corgi's because of him.
Blessings
Those are adorable Roosters, especially love the black and white glass family. Would love to see your Rooster quilt kit and table runner. I have quite a few roosters and would have joined the party, but I didn't have the time. Maybe next year. I may have to share some rooster blocks on my blog, I received in a block swap awhile back. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks.
ReplyDeleteI love your roosters, especially those blown glass ones.... so pretty!
