An early morning post, a giveaway, a pumpkin spectacular and Christmas tablerunners!

I am starting early today with a post about a great book in a giveaway!  Go to Spark Bark for a chance to win this adorable book:

As I was looking around, I came across the most wonderful post about a fantastic pumpkin festival on Miss Punkie Pie's blog (be sure to scroll down on her postings because she took pictures that you just have to see!) called the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Roger Williams Zoo in Rhode Island; you just have to check it out if you like to see carved pumpkins.  We love to carve pumpkins at our house, and I think we do pretty good, but nothing like what I saw at the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular!  I will show you a couple of ours from other years.  I can't wait to see what we will be carving this weekend!

I am now going to leap from Halloween to Christmas--are you with me..I have started to make tablerunners for gifts again this year; last year I made fourteen of the same pattern because I loved it so much!  It was a quilt as you go pattern called Madison Square Runner by G.E. Designs, and it went together so easy!  Yes, there are a few people who did not get them last year, and I am using the new blue's of the holiday this year.  I did take pictures of a few before they went out the door:

Whew, there was a lot of ground covered in this post--but do go see that pumpkin spectacular!  I will leave you thinking about what pumpkins you will carve this year, a chance to try a super great tablerunner pattern and another giveaway to enter; so until tomorrow, Happy Quilting!
